Where are you from?
I am from the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia, and went to Griffith University. I currently live in Mie prefecture, Japan.

Teaching Experience
I have been a teacher for 30 years (25 years in Japan). I have taught all levels of students, including elementary, junior high, high school, university students, and adults. My most recent students were engineers and executives at a technology company in Matsusaka city.

Business / Education
I have taught Japanese (in Australia) and English (in Japan), including business English. I hold two degrees from university: a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Education, and a diploma of Japanese (1 year special course) from Seikei university in Tokyo.

In my lessons...
In my lessons, the focus will always be on improving your ability to communicate and express yourself, regardless of whether the topic is to do with business, or daily conversation. I hope to create an enjoyable atmosphere in which we can enjoy talking.

Interests
I like writing and have just completed my debut novel (set in Japan). I've also written several blogs about writing and living in Japan on my author website. My wife and I like hiking, bike riding, watching movies, listening to music, and reading books. We have also enjoyed many trips around Japan, our favorite spot being the Yaeyama islands of Okinawa.
