Where are you from?
I am from Manchester in the UK. England is known for its long history, castles and beautiful countryside.
One thing I like about the UK is the custom of Afternoon tea.
Afternoon tea is an excuse to enjoy drinking hot tea with sandwiches and cakes.
You can enjoy the custom inside one of the many tearooms around the UK,
or outside in the beautiful gardens of stately homes; weather permitting of course!
Teaching Experience
I have over 2 years of experience as an ALT working on the JET Programme in various High Schools.
I have also worked as a private English teacher in Tokyo, teaching a variety of students,
from very young children to professional couples.
Finally, I have also been working with students online. I hold a British TEFL/TESOL certificate.
Business / Education
I graduated from University with a 2:1 BA with honors Degree in Japanese and Creative writing in 2016.
I have worked in a variety of industries including international relations,
customer service, sales, retail and offices in both Japan and the UK.
My lesson are...
I believe that communication is one of the most important parts of learning a new language
and I like to encourage my students to challenge themselves to communicate their ideas and opinions
through conversational lessons on topics that they will find interesting and engaging.
Also, because I have been a student of foreign languages, especially Japanese,
I am able to empathize with students and help them work through difficult grammar
and sentence structure by drawing upon my own learning experiences.
Finally, because I am able to understand Japanese,
I am able to help students more effectively with what they would like to convey should they need guidance.
